Every side shows the Vegas price, then the market's honest chance with the vig out. The favorite puts up more because the favorite is right more often. Nobody negotiated that; the market did.

    Get in

    You join with a link from a friend who's already here, then add the people you know. You only ever match against your own friends list.

    Pick a side and a number

    Spread, moneyline or total, and what you'd risk on it. Nothing is committed yet. Pull it any time before someone shakes on it.

    OtherSide finds the other side

    When a friend wants the opposite side of the same game at the same number, it shows up as a match, sized to what you both have open.

    Shake on it

    One proposes, the other confirms. From then on the line and the odds are locked, and the final score grades it on its own.

02The price

A book charges you to be right.

Both sides of a coin flip post at −110: risk 110 to win 100, on a bet you win half the time. That gap is the vig, and it is the only reason a book exists. OtherSide divides it back out and prices the handshake at what's left.

Same idea on a lopsided game. −280 against +230 is really 71% against 29%, so whoever backs the favorite puts up 30 against the underdog's 12. Whoever's right takes what the other one put up, and every handshake is worth exactly nothing on expectation. The only way up the standings is being right more often than the market is.

03Plainly

This is not a sportsbook.

It never holds money.
No deposit, no balance, no payout, no card on file. The app tracks a number. What it's worth, and how you square up, is between friends and happens somewhere else.
It never takes a cut.
Free for now. If that changes it'll be a small flat subscription for the odds feed and the hosting, never a percentage of what you wager. That would just be the vig wearing a different hat.
It never sets a price.
Prices come from the consensus market with the margin divided out. Nobody quotes odds at anybody, nobody bids, and strangers never see each other.

Nothing here is enforced by software. There's no escrow and no collateral, which is exactly why it's invite-only. Every handshake is timestamped and confirmed by both people at stakes that were on screen before either agreed. Between friends, that's usually all the enforcement anyone needs. Invite people you'd lend money to.
