Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We use this to create your account and identify you to friends you've connected with — we never see or store your Google password.

We also store the picks and handshakes you make in the app (which games, which side, what stake), your friend connections, and the invite links you create or redeem. An invite link's token is briefly stored in a cookie in your browser while you sign in.

What we don't collect

No payment information, no location data, and no contacts. OtherSide never holds or moves money between friends, and it's free to use, so there are no payment details to store. Anything you settle with a friend happens away from the app, and we have no record of it. We collect no data from any account other than the Google account you sign in with.

Where it's stored

Account and app data live in a Postgres database hosted by Neon. Sports schedules and odds are fetched from The Odds API, a third-party sports-data provider — that request never includes any of your personal information, just the game and market being priced.

Who can see your data

Your name and profile picture are visible to friends you're connected with through invite links. Your friends can also see who else you're friends with, which is how people find the rest of a group; you can switch that off on your profile. Your picks are only matched against friends' picks, never shown to strangers. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or other third parties.

Your choices

You can ask to have your account and data deleted at any time by emailing the address below. Signing out clears your session; revoking OtherSide's access from your Google account settings stops any future sign-ins.
