Not a sportsbook

OtherSide is not a bookmaker, is not licensed or regulated as a gambling service, and is not a party to anything you agree with a friend. It does not accept, hold, transfer, or settle money, and it takes no fee, commission, or cut of any kind. There is no deposit, no withdrawal, no balance, and no payout. The app records what two friends agreed to and who turned out to be right, and stops there.

What you and your friends treat a wager as being worth, and how you settle up, is arranged entirely between you and away from the app. OtherSide is not involved in those arrangements, has no record of them, and has no responsibility for them. Whether what you're doing is permitted where you live is your responsibility, not ours.

Invite-only access

You can only join with a valid invite link from an existing friend, or as a founding member. We may add, remove, or change how invites work at any time. We may suspend or remove an account for abuse of the invite system or the app generally.

Your account

You sign in with Google, and your account is tied to that Google identity. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure. Picks, handshakes, and friend connections you make are yours, and matching only ever happens between accepted friends.

Odds and settlement

Game lines and scores come from a third-party sports-data provider and may be delayed, incomplete, or occasionally wrong. Handshakes settle based on that data as reported. We do our best to grade results correctly but don't guarantee the underlying data is error-free.

No warranty, no liability

OtherSide is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind, by someone running it as a side project for friends. It may have bugs, go down, lose data, grade something wrong, or change without notice.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for anything arising out of using — or being unable to use — the app. That includes any wager you agree to, any disagreement with a friend about one, and anything either of you does about it. OtherSide is a record of what was agreed. It is not a guarantor of it, and it cannot enforce it.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continuing to use OtherSide after a change means you accept the updated terms.
